Beautiful handmade studio ceramic object from 1990, signed “Anneke B.” and dated on the underside.
It is a heavy, professionally turned bowl-shaped vase made of speckled stoneware with a deep black drip glaze over warm sandy-colored clay. The design shows clear influences of Japanese ceramics and wabi-sabi aesthetics: austere, organic, and timeless.
Due to the compact spherical shape and the small opening, the object works both as a sculptural interior piece and for dried branches or ikebana-style presentation.
The combination of raw chamotte clay and controlled glaze drips gives the work a strong artisanal appearance that fits well within Japandi, Brutalist, and mid-century interiors.
