There are many different types of glass made by master makers on the Venetian island of Murano. From wafer-thin vases to expressive sculptures, massive objects with deep and vibrant hues also represent the great skills of glassblowers. The current bowl, designed in the style of Flavio Poli but not directly attributed to him, is a perfect example of how attractive solid Murano glass can be. Made of "Sommerso" glass, in shades of yellow and green, it has a simple and classic "round" shape. It was originally intended as an ashtray, or simply as a bowl. It can be dated roughly to the mid-1960s, based on the style and colors of the piece. Unsigned, like most pieces from that time, it shows great craftsmanship and has been preserved in beautiful condition. There are no visible cracks, dents or damage,
