Description:
A unique Oriental room screen / paravent. These screens date from the 1970s, a time of the resurgence of chinoiserie. This style originated in the mid-18th century, when entire castles were filled with Chinese and Oriental furniture and objects. Consequently, this type of furniture was produced during the 1970s, and no two are alike. All elements are applied by hand and therefore always possess an artistic touch.
Traditional Chinese landscapes featuring temples and walkers are depicted on this screen. A lake with boats is also shown at the bottom. All of this is painted by hand, and texture has been added to certain elements using putty. Very light flowers are painted around the murals; these are barely noticeable. The screen is somewhere between red and brown in color.
In short, a beautiful item for an Oriental-style home or shop. Dimensions:
Height: 181.5 cm
Width: 185 cm
Depth: 3 cm
Condition:
Used condition. The paintwork is generally good, except for two small spots where the filler has come loose. Otherwise, the screen has the scratches and damage as shown in the photos (see the last photos for a better idea of the condition).
