Vintage Propos lounge armchair by Hulmefa, produced in the 1960s in the Netherlands.
This rare Dutch lounge armchair is made of teak and upholstered with a fabric in white, brown and yellow tones. The chair stands out for its beautiful, sculptural design and is part of Hulmefa's progressive Propos series.
Originally, this is a so-called "gentlemen's chair," which is reflected in the high backrest. In those days, gentlemen were expected to be able to sit back and relax after a day's work - often with smokes in their hands. A high backrest was therefore considered appropriate and comfortable.
The lounge armchair has been reupholstered, making it sit like new again. Thanks to its elegant, organic shape, this piece of furniture is a pleasure to look at and a real eye-catcher in any interior.
