This is a postmodern table or desk lamp, a characteristic design from the 1980s. The piece reflects the playful and bold aesthetic of the Memphis Milano design movement, an influential Italian collective of interior designers and architects founded in Milan in December 1980 under the leadership of Ettore Sottsass, known for its vibrant colors and geometric shapes. The lamp is made from a combination of materials, including a metal shade and a plastic base. The construction consists of a spherical, red-painted shade resting on a black central holder with three curved red legs. The inside of the shade is painted white for optimal light reflection. This design is a typical example of Italian design influences from that period. The overall condition of the lamp is good, retaining its original finish and colors.
