Product description
This ceramic centerpiece set was designed by Gabrielle Mackiewicz for the Art et Feu workshop in France in the 1950s. It comprises five distinct pieces, illustrating the designer's penchant for the organic and sculptural forms typical of that era.
The set includes a large anthropomorphic central sculpture, two slender candlesticks measuring 19 cm in height, and two matching cylindrical vases, each 13 cm tall. The stylized brown decoration is etched with oxide on a very light blue and grayish-white glaze, a technique characteristic of Mackiewicz's clay work and glazing.
The set is in good overall condition, retaining its original character. It displays an authentic patina that testifies to its history.
This complete five-piece set would be a significant addition to any mid-century ceramics collection. It integrates harmoniously on a teak sideboard or dining table, perfectly complementing a modernist or brutalist interior.
