Product description
A beautiful, high-quality solid pewter mortar and pestle, stamped "Les Étains du Manoir - Étain" on the base. Vintage French production, circa 1970-1980. A simple and elegant design in a traditional style, resting on a wide foot and adorned with several raised rings. The thick, heavy, silver-plated pewter has a lovely natural patina from use. The pestle, also solid and particularly heavy, echoes the ringed decoration of the mortar. It measures 8.8 cm high and 11 cm in maximum diameter, with a pestle 15 cm long. In very good overall condition, with some minor scratches inside and out, a light patina, and small dents; a harmonious set. Approximately 1 kg.
