Original design classic from the first owner.
This type, also called CB02, was part of the so-called Berkenserie / Combex series that was designed in the mid-1950s by Cees Braakman for UMS Pastoe.
For its time it was an extremely modern series, which distinguished itself by the special use of materials and its minimal connections, which resulted in a very sleek whole with very small seams.
The so-called anti-dust drawers are special, because of their unique shape, bent from steamed plywood, they were given a special and extremely useful design that managed to prevent dust in drawers.
The most characteristic feature of the series and this piece of furniture are the so-called loop legs, again made of steam-bent plywood.
This series is now sought after worldwide by enthusiasts and connoisseurs.
This copy, a so-called CB02, comes from the first owner and is still entirely in an original used vintage condition. The birch veneer has acquired its own patina and the traces of use are appropriate for its age.
Entirely complete including key, 2 drawers and shelf. A beautiful object to use as is in its original condition with patina, or to restore completely to better than new condition, the choice is yours.
