Bring a touch of rustic elegance and nostalgia to your home with this charming antique painting by W.E. van Rolland, painted in oil on panel and framed in a warm-toned period wooden frame.
This bucolic scene evokes the northern European countryside, probably inspired by 19th-century Dutch tradition: a red-tiled house by the side of a road, a couple busy with their daily chores, and in the distance, a calm landscape bathed in soft light. A romantic, poetic composition, conducive to escape.
The signature "W.E. van Rolland" is visible in the lower left-hand corner. This is most probably a 20th-century decorative painter, active in the 1960s-1980s, in a style reminiscent of the Dutch school. The painting is authentically hand-painted, not a printed reproduction.
The original frame is signed by a German framer - Glas Kunst Kiefer, in Pirmasens - attesting to the particular care taken in its presentation.
