This atmospheric and characteristic Old Dutch winter landscape (ice scene) dates from the second half of the 20th century (c. 1960 - 1980). The painting depicts an idyllic, snow-covered village scene with a prominent church tower by the frozen water and bare, snow-covered trees. The work is skillfully painted in the nostalgic tradition of the Romantic School. The artwork is hand-painted with oil paint on a hardboard (Masonite) panel and is hand-signed by the artist in the lower right corner with the monogram PR. The eye-catcher of this object is the heavy, monumental wooden frame. It features a beautiful gilded (gold-colored) finish and a classic blue/gray inlay border, giving the whole a unique authentic appearance. A beautiful vintage decorative piece that instantly adds warmth and character to your interior.
