Product description
The 'Safari' is a classic Danish pendant lamp from the mid-century. The dome structure ensures an even and glare-free light distribution. The lamp is most suitable for illuminating a table or desk and is also very suitable for use as the sole light source in small rooms. Overall, this lamp is a timeless design classic that complements all contemporary and mid-century modern furniture.
Hvidt was influenced by modern Scandinavian design and developed a clean, functional style. Apart from lighting, Hvidt is well known for his chair designs, such as the AX chair and the Pluto chair.
Christian Hvidt won numerous awards during his career, including the prestigious Lunning Prize in 1954. His creations have also been exhibited in numerous museums and galleries around the world.
During his lifetime, Christian Hvidt made a significant contribution to the development of Danish industrial design and left an important legacy in the field of designer furniture.
The lamp is in excellent used condition. Very light asymmetries of the shades are the only noticeable signs of use. Disclaimer: smudge on left hand side is not an actual smudge but a reflection.
