Product description
Beautiful vintage luxury 'Lotus' armchair, designed by Rob Parry and produced by Gelderland in the 1960s. It comes directly from the original owners in Bennekom, which makes it extra special.
This chair was originally part of a set with the Rob Parry model 1611, the all-wood version. Over the years, both the upholstery and foam of both armchairs had become worn, and the frames were also in need of a makeover. A significant project, but exactly the kind of work we love.
In our workshop, the armchair was completely disassembled and professionally restored. The woodwork and metal frame were thoroughly cleaned; the wood was refinished, and the metal shines like new again. The chair has fully regained its original warm appearance and elegant charm.
The seat consists of four separate elements, each fitted with new foam and reupholstered in a beautiful dark green upholstery fabric called Motto. The dark wood, the gleaming metal frame, and the rich color of the fabric create a timeless combination.
As you'd expect from Rob Parry, this armchair is exceptionally comfortable. It's a chair you'll sit in in the morning and hardly want to get out of by evening. Pure Dutch design, with craftsmanship and quality that guarantee years of enjoyment.
