Bengt Olof Gotthard Sandberg, born on March 20, 1930 in Malmö and died on March 4, 1997 in Uppåkra, is a Swedish painter and illustrator. He is the son of the Swedish painter Herman Gotthard Sandberg. Sandberg studied at the Skåne School of Painting in Malmö in 1947, at the Wadskjær School of Painting in Copenhagen in 1948 and at the Académie Colarossi in Paris in 1949. He then made several study trips, including to Spain, the Netherlands and France. He exhibited separately in the SDS hall and at the Little Art Salon in Malmö. Together with his father, he has exhibited at the Ystad Art Museum and participated in the National Museum's Young Illustrators exhibition and the Stockholm Liljevalch Salons, as well as in exhibitions organized by the Skåne Art Association. His art consists of reproductions of nature, religious motifs, portraits, still lifes, figures and landscapes painted in tempera, pastel, oil and drawings. In addition to his own work, he has participated as an illustrator in Sydsvenska Dagbladet . Sandberg is represented at the Ystad Museum of Art and the Postmuseum in Stockholm.
