Preserved in good conditionBengt Olson (Olsson), born June 22, 1930 in Kristinehamn, is a Swedish painter, graphic designer and sculptor who has lived and worked in Paris most of his life. He is married to Christiane Fulconis, whom he met in Paris when he moved there and began his great work in the city.Son of Allan Olson and Elin Maria Johnsson. Bengt Olson grew up in Kristinehamn with parents who were interested in art and as a child he began to support himself by painting from the age of 15. He studied at the Valand Art School in Gothenburg from 1948 to 1952 with, among others, Endre Nemes . After graduating, he went to France to continue his training with Fernand Léger in 1953.Bengt mastered all materials and techniques such as oil, pastel, watercolor, sandblasting and glazing. We see everything from paintings to huge sculptures, and a burning interest in architecture where the city and nature must interact with art.He moved to France in 1960. In the fall of 1964, he came into contact with Carl Nesjar in France, who had worked with Pablo Picasso's sculptures, and they obtained Picasso's permission in 1964 to scale up a model of his sculpture series The Ladies of Mougins and place it on the shores of Lake Vänern in Vålöviken, seven kilometers from Kristinehamn. It became the 15-meter-high Jaqueline in sandblasted concrete, the largest Picasso sculpture in the world. 2 Bengt has since worked with sandblasted concrete technology himself in Paris. He also used state-of-the-art faience tiles. He had the honor of erecting nine of the largest monumental works in Paris in the 1960s and 1970s.
