Cool vintage 'Laminex' chair, designed by Jens Nielsen and produced by Westnofa in the 1960s. This armchair comes from the estate of the original owner in Gouda and had been gathering dust in the attic for years!
Of course, we wanted to change that; this iconic designer chair deserves a better home than a dark attic.
This unique chair is made of bent birch plywood, a technique commonly used by designers and furniture makers in the 1950s and 1960s (such as Cees Braakman for Pastoe). The chair consists of two separate parts, which easily slide together to give the chair its shape.
Overall, the chair is in good condition, but the plywood is damaged in several places, as shown in the photos. Theoretically, it can be repaired, but this makes it unique and adds character.
A true mid-century eye-catcher for an office or living room. Its timeless design makes it suitable for both modern and vintage interiors.
