Beautiful vintage Kho Liang Ie sofa for Artifort, model 69103, dating from the mid-century/1970s design period. A striking example of Dutch design, with the characteristic low, elegant profile, deep button tufting and sculptural black splayed legs. The rich burnt orange upholstery gives the sofa a particularly strong presence and works beautifully as a statement piece. The sofa has three separate button-tufted back cushions and a generously proportioned, softly upholstered seat. Its distinctive minimalist silhouette is very much in keeping with Kho Liang Ie’s influential designs for Artifort. Condition: The upholstery is in good vintage condition overall, with some normal signs of age and use. There is damage to the outer rear feet/legs, which is visible from the sides. This is reflected in the asking price. The sofa remains a wonderful piece of vintage design for someone who appreciates its character and is comfortable with its condition. A genuine collector’s/design piece with plenty of presence. Particularly suited to a mid-century, vintage or eclectic interior.
