Elegant vase in a traditional Japanese style, acquired around the 1960s from a family collection. It has a cool, solid feel, suggesting it is made on a metal base (possibly a bronze or brass alloy) finished with a dark, glossy patina.
The front features beautiful, subtle relief ornamentation with traditional motifs: a pair of cranes and Mount Fuji, classic symbols of longevity and good fortune.
The decorative design appears to have been created using engraving or metal overlay techniques in gold and silver tones, giving it a very refined texture. The back is plain.
Condition: Very good overall vintage condition. The upper body and the decorative motif are very well preserved. It does not bear a visible original signature, which was common in many decorative pieces from the mid-20th century. It only shows the expected wear from rubbing and resting on the base ring (see detail photo).
