Italian vintage Lounge Chair in White Leather, 1970s – in the Manner of Nicos Zographos
Elegant Italian modernist lounge chair with a low, generous seat and a sleek flat–bar steel base, circa 1970s–1980s. The minimalist “ribbon” sled frame and architectural profile recall the corporate modern designs of Nicos Zographos, while the piece itself is of Italian manufacture with an unknown designer.
The seat and back form a clean, slightly reclined volume, upholstered in supple white leather with deep square tufting that adds subtle texture and comfort. The proportions are refined yet inviting: wide enough for relaxed lounging, but visually light thanks to the open sleigh base in polished chrome-plated steel.
The chair presents well, with the leather in very good vintage condition showing only minor signs of use, and the frame retaining a bright shine with light surface marks consistent with age. A woven “Italy” tag under the seat confirms its Italian origin.
A strong, sculptural accent piece that pairs beautifully with mid-century, minimalist and contemporary interiors – perfect next to a glass coffee table, in a reading corner or as a statement lounge chair in a living room or office.
