An authentic example of robust mid-century European design: an original industrial enameled wall sconce or recessed ceiling light from the 1970s, manufactured in Yugoslavia (in the iconic style of TEP Zagreb or Saturnus Ljubljana).
This fixture perfectly captures the timeless aesthetic of industrial chic and the utilitarian Bauhaus style. The central element is a heavy, durable metal disc coated with glossy white vitreous enamel (enameled disc), beautifully finished with a contrasting black rim. Due to its indestructibility and incredible light-reflecting properties, enameled metal was the most common material used in mid-century industrial lighting.
