The Ikea Gyllen wall lamp is a distinctive design from the nineties. This specific model stands out due to its rectangular glass plate featuring a graphic, repeating pattern in black on a white background, creating a striking visual effect when the lamp is switched on. The fixture consists of a white metal base that attaches to the wall, upon which the glass plate rests, held in place by subtle metal clamps. The lamp is designed for two light sources and was manufactured in India, as stated on the original label. The contrast between the clear glass and the dark, geometric shapes gives the whole a distinct retro character. The object is in good condition, commensurate with its age and previous use. The original wiring and fittings are present—although the wiring from the base needs to be extended to a power outlet—as well as the brand label on the inside of the fixture.
