This exceptional mid-century area rug, titled "Fáraó," was designed by the Hungarian artist Ferenc Fekete and produced by the renowned LATEX (Ligetfüredi Textilművek) factory in Szombathely, 1974. Fekete’s work during this period is highly regarded for its synthesis of traditional weaving craftsmanship and the bold, graphic sensibilities that defined Eastern European textile design in the 1970s.
The carpet is in excellent original condition, featuring a complex, stylized motif with deep, resonant tones that have been beautifully preserved. The texture remains rich and intact, serving as a powerful testament to the high-quality production standards of the Szombathely looms. We also have a smaller companion piece available for those looking to create a cohesive interior set; please contact us directly for a bulk price.
Its impressive scale and artistic narrative make it a perfect centerpiece for a mid-century interior, a gallery-style living space, or an upscale designer office. Please see photos for detailed views of the weave and design.
