Product description
Beautiful vintage trinket dish in banded calcitic alabaster, also known as Egyptian onyx, a vintage Egyptian piece from the 1960s-1970s. Entirely hand-carved and polished, it has an elegant oblong, shuttle-shaped form. The stone displays cream, honey, and white hues, traversed by parallel natural veins, and exhibits magnificent translucency in the light.
It measures 25cm long, 12cm wide, and 2.5cm high. In very good overall condition, with no cracks or chips, and some minor wear to the base visible only under raking light. There are also a few light scratches and a small, discreet scuff mark on one of the points; the lines visible in the stone correspond to its natural veins. Approximately 200g, very fine.
