This old wooden jewelry box is made in the 'Hindeloopen' painting style. Hindeloopen is a small village in the province of Friesland, Netherlands. The village is known for its floral painting style in atmospheric oxblood red and dark green/blue/yellow hues. Although the painting style is inextricably linked to the village, objects in this style have been made by all kinds of artists throughout time. Even today, this art form is still practiced in the Netherlands. This box appears to be at least several decades old, given the worn paint on the edges. A beautiful, unique piece. Height: 6.5 centimeters Length: 16 centimeters Depth: 9 centimeters
