Beautiful, characterful wooden bust of a Hindu deity (possibly Lord Vishnu or Shiva), hand-carved in the mid-century period (c. 1950-1980). This unique object is an atmospheric piece of Indian folk art that fits perfectly into a vintage, eclectic, or bohemian interior. The statue has a beautiful, authentically weathered appearance with fine remnants of the original polychrome painting and the traditional red tilak on the forehead. The back features an authentic metal hanging eye with vintage slotted screws, allowing the bust to be mounted directly to the wall.
