Manufactured in the 1950's by Dartmouth Pottery in Devon, England, the Gluggle Jug is a fish shaped water jug, used to advertise Plymouth Gin. Advertised as 'a novelty which always attracts attention', the jug produces an amusing 'glug glug' sound when liquid is poured from it. The gluggle jug is a versatile product which can be used as a water jug, wine carafe, vase, utensil jar or ornament. Sourced from an artist's personal collection of atelier objects, this item is in excellent vintage condition, with some crazing in the glaze commensurate with age.Slight crazing to glaze commensurate with age.
