Product description
Set of two vintage armchairs designed by Martin Visser for Gispen, featuring a sleek black metal frame and original upholstery. The design is understated, functional, and architectural, typical of Dutch modernism from the 1950s and 1960s. These chairs were made for intensive use and combine comfort with a clean, timeless design.
Provenance: Originally supplied to the University of Groningen, a major client of Gispen's high-quality contract furniture. This provenance confirms the authenticity and quality of the set and provides additional historical context.
The chairs are in honest, used condition with patina commensurate with their age. The fabric on the back of one chair is damaged, which is clearly visible in the photos and was factored into the price. Structurally, both chairs are solid and sound.
