Product description
Antique, vintage, square cake plate/ cake platter/ large trivet and two cake lifters by renowned faience/porcelain, ceramic maker, Gien France.
The cake platter and right cake lifter, have the "Rouen" design pattern, made in between the 1930's and 1950's (see stamp), while the left cake lifter, has the "Pivoine" (peony) design pattern.
Pieces are made of Faience (Fine Tin Glazed) ceramic, showcasing a stunning royal blue and white décor (see photos).
Pieces are in overall very good, original and vintage condition, with very light marks, signs of age and previous use commensurate with time, as well as a patina of time, on the overall pieces, as can be expected for pieces of this age (see photos). No cracks or chips.
- They have only been gently cleaned with respect to their original patina of time.
- A maker's mark is present on the cake platter as well as embossed letters UME (see photo.)
The word "France" is present under the maker's mark, which indicated that it was made for export.
Could be used as originally intended as cake server set / cake plate /cake display/ centerpiece for table / stove protection to let your dishes or baked goods from the oven rest, as a large trivet, kitchen island décor, vintage, rustic contemporary kitchen décor.
