Playful Guzzini espresso cup and saucer set from the Y2K period, designed with a clear nod to the bold Italian Space Age aesthetic of the 1970s.
The set combines glossy white porcelain cups with translucent yellow plastic saucers and matching circular handles. The saturated colour, transparent material and graphic rounded forms capture the retro-futurist revival that was particularly influential around the turn of the millennium.
A great example of late 1990s / early 2000s Italian design reinterpreting the playful plastics and Pop-inspired forms of the 1970s.
