A magnificent "Fantasy Island" 2-seat sofa by Kurt Bayer, Germany 1980's.
This sculptural sofa is made of wood, steel and leather, a beautiful combination.
The base, the backrest and the original leather have patina consistent with age and use, see the pictures.
It is possible to let us reupholster the seat, we work with professionals.

Kurt Bayer is internationally known in the field of home interiors, he is an independent designer and has been part of the management team of Koinor since 1974.
In 1981 Bayer founded his own design studio. Before Kurt designed furniture (usually upholstered furniture) he studied at the Porcelain College in Selb Germany.
This Fantasy Island two seater sofa is iconic and has a timeless design. Every design from Bayer is more than just functionality. The design can also very easily be seen as a work of art. Bayer still designs furniture for the German Bullfrog brand. His contribution to the design strategy is clearly visible in this top-class furniture and the Fantasy Island sofa also bears the clear Kurt Bayer signature.
