Product description
Presidential office chair by German industrial designer Otto Zapf from 1975. This is a re-edition from Topstar.
Fully functional with height adjustment, lockable rocker, and casters. Swivel. Upholstered in black leather. "Otto Zapf" embossed on the back of the leather.

Otto Zapf was a German industrial designer and entrepreneur. In the 1960s, Zapf formed a brilliant partnership with Dieter Rams. As co-founder of the furniture manufacturer Vitsoe, he was responsible for several groundbreaking designs in post-war German design.
Otto Zapf's own designs are characterized by the absence of sharp corners and edges (quote from Otto Zapf: "Because I have never discovered sharp edges on any person, I no longer want to believe that the objects we surround ourselves with must have sharp edges"). This characteristic is also evident in the design offered here from 1975.
