Up for sale is an authentic, highly collectible mid-century British classic—the Ercol Windsor Tub Chair (Model 305), beautifully updated with a striking contemporary matte black finish. Designed by Lucian Ercolani, this model is celebrated for its sweeping, rounded hoop back, delicate spindles, and signature contoured solid elm saddle seat.
Condition & Restoration Details:
This chair has been personally upcycled from its original dark traditional finish to a sleek, durable black satin paint. The frame is completely sturdy, solid, and structurally perfect.
Cushion Status:
The original cushions featuring the authentic vintage floral motif are included in the sale; however, the interior foam has completely degraded due to age and requires replacement. Crucially, all original metal press-stud attachment clamps remain fully intact on the seat and back frame. This makes it incredibly straightforward to snap on newly cut foam or modern custom linen/boucle covers to complete the look.
