Product description
Vintage EA 217 Soft Pad office chair by Charles & Ray Eames in black leather with chrome, produced for Herman Miller in Norway in the 1980s by Herman Miller. This Soft Pad swivels and is height-adjustable by approximately 8 cm using the knob under the seat.
The lever tilts the seat to your preference. The seat is spring-loaded.
Four new casters (via Vitra) have been installed. The leather has a beautiful patina and some signs of wear, including two small worn spots of approximately 5 x 5 mm on the top/back of the backrest (see photos).
The chrome is slightly tarnished in a few places—on the armrest at the bottom of the seat and on the base (see photos).
The chair has a sticker and stamp (made in Norway by Ring Mobelfabrikk, patents applied for) under the seat, as shown in the photos. Sits very comfortably, in short, a chair in good condition and with character.
