Beautiful set of post-war dining chairs from the 1950s/60s, made of solid wood (teak) with a green/artificial leatherette seat. Originating from Friesland (Joure/Parrega), they have always been in the same family.
My grandfather worked at the Zijlstra furniture factory in Joure and was involved in technical design and (handcrafted) production. There is no stamp, but the style, construction, and origin strongly resemble Zijlstra from this period.
Features include blind mortise and tenon joints, continuous back legs, and tapered back posts. Sturdy, comfortable, and with a beautiful patina.
Price: estimated price; please contact the enthusiast.
A stylish addition to any interior. Condition: used, but in very good condition. The woodwork is good but could use some minor refurbishment. There is a small hole in the artificial leather in one of the seats.
