A warm, characterful set of four vintage Danish pine dining chairs, designed in a sculptural Scandinavian spirit reminiscent of Niels Koefoed’s clean, architectural approach, here interpreted in honest pine with a more rustic, tactile feel.
What makes this set special is the distinctive split-back silhouette: two curved pine panels connected by dowels, creating a graphic, almost “shield-like” outline that reads beautifully from every angle. The chairs have been reupholstered in a soft long-pile fabric, adding texture and comfort while keeping the silhouette clean and minimal.
These chairs show straightforward Scandinavian construction, solid pine frames with visible joinery and dowel connections in the backrest, plus sturdy rails under the seat. You’ll also notice historical repairs (see close-ups): honest, period-typical fixes that speak to decades of use. Importantly, the chairs feel sturdy and solid today.
