Vintage Danish modular bookcase by Poul Hundevad in rosewood with as many as 8 shelves. The bookcase was designed and produced by Poul Hundevad. Poul Hundevad was a well-known Danish furniture designer and furniture maker, born on March 11, 1917 in Vamdrup, Denmark. He is most famous for his Guldhøj chair, a folding chair inspired by a bronze age artifact found in a burial mound in Vamdrup. This chair became a great success and was produced in different types of wood with leather upholstery.
Hundevad's designs are praised for their combination of traditional craftsmanship and modern functionality. In addition to the Guldhøj chair, he created a variety of furniture pieces, including dining chairs, serving trolleys, sideboards and this type of bookcase. His work is characterized by clean lines and exceptional joining techniques, reflecting the high standards of mid-20th century Danish design.
The bookcase is set in an appropriate Danish oil and well polished. No to little signs of use. Beautiful condition!
