This vintage musical jewelry box is a fine example of 1970s craftsmanship from Shanghai, China. The piece is distinguished by its rich rosewood construction and the intricate carved jade medallion set into the lid, flanked by decorative brass mounts.
The box is constructed from solid rosewood, known for its deep reddish-brown hue and durable nature. It features ornate brass corner protectors and a traditional clasp mechanism. The interior is lined with a vibrant red patterned silk fabric and houses a mechanical musical movement. The original labels on the base confirm its origin as 'Made in Shanghai, China' and indicate provenance from the Dragon commercial centre in Chalandri, Greece.
