Beautiful, authentic Chinese vintage jewelry cabinet (Shanghai style) at least 50 years old (approx. 1950s-1970s). An atmospheric and decorative object for the lover of Asian art and vintage interiors.
The cabinet is made of warm reddish-brown hardwood and features two doors and a handy drawer at the bottom. The doors are beautifully inlaid with two openwork panels of hand-carved, light green jade (hardstone). The cabinet is finished all around with characteristic, robust brass fittings and corner pieces.
Specifications:
- Dimensions: approx. 20 cm high, 16 cm wide, and 12 cm deep.
- Material: Hardwood, brass, and hand-carved jade.
- Interior: The inside is fully lined with the original fabric lining.
- Condition: In good and sturdy vintage condition. The woodwork and the delicate jade panels are completely intact, except for a few minor damages to the wood (see photos). The fabric lining on the inside is intact, but due to its age, it does show a few small, light stains.
Unfortunately, the original detachable sliding lock is no longer present, but the doors still close properly.
