Product description
A charming decorative box carved and polished from natural soapstone, depicting a stylized pumpkin with its lid. Possibly Asian work from the late 20th century, 1970s-1990s. The stone displays beautiful natural hues ranging from creamy beige to golden honey with brown veins and speckles, and a carefully polished surface. The base bears a partially erased engraving, including three strokes of the letter "III" accompanied by an almost entirely effaced signature.
Total height with lid: 13 cm; height of the body alone: 9 cm; maximum diameter: approximately 14-15 cm. In very good overall condition. There are only a few minor, discreet superficial marks consistent with age and use. Weight: approximately 1 kg.
