Elegant, silver-plated cake server with an openwork design on the scoop and a floral motif on the handle. This item was made in 1951 by Wm. Rogers Mfg. Co. (William Rogers Manufacturing Company) in the Magnolia design line. The piece is marked with the company name on the back.
The company was founded in 1865 in Hartford, Connecticut, by William Rogers Sr. and his son, William Rogers Jr. William Sr. was a pioneer who helped perfect the commercial electroplating process in the United States. The brand soon gained renown through the mass production of high-quality silver-plated cutlery. This cake server is in good vintage condition with some patina.
