This wallpaper demonstrates Fornasetti's ability to draw different inspirations from one image. The muse for Tema e Variazioni was an opera singer named Lina Cavalieri in a 19th-century French magazine. Fornasetti was fascinated by her mysterious face and used it in several of his designs. Beautiful and enchanting.
