Unique handmade Brutalist tree trunk side table or stool from the 1960s/70s. Presumably made of French walnut or elm. This characteristic piece of furniture embodies the pure Wabi-Sabi aesthetic and mid-century folk art. The table is crafted from a single solid wooden tree slice, in which the natural, irregular shapes and the robust bark edge have been beautifully preserved. This authentic stool features three continuous wooden dowel joints visible on the top surface of the tabletop. The tapered legs run completely through the tabletop – a traditional and extremely strong wood joint that testifies to pure craftsmanship, without the use of modern metal mounting plates or screws. Ideal for use as a unique side table, plant stand, stool, or decorative Brutalist accent in both modern and vintage interiors. Dimensions:
Height: 40cm
Tabletop diameter: approx. 40x25cm
Tabletop thickness: approx. 6cm
The table is in sturdy, stable vintage condition with a rich grain structure and a lived-in patina that gives the object a unique character.
