Beautiful original C18 “Shaker” dining table, designed by Børge Mogensen for FDB Møbler in Denmark in 1965. This iconic table is considered one of the most timeless designs of Danish modernism and was originally designed in 1947. The design is inspired by traditional Shaker furniture and combines functionality, simplicity, and an exceptional material appearance. This particular piece is in very beautiful vintage condition with a lovely deep, warm oak patina and a beautifully weathered surface that only develops after decades of careful use. The table shows hardly any signs of use. The table features the characteristic elegant trestle construction with generous legroom and a particularly calm, minimalist appearance. An exceptionally atmospheric and authentic piece from the early production period of FDB Møbler.
