ABOUT HALA AND BUSQUET:
The company Busquet founded was one of the first lighting manufacturers in the Netherlands. During the Depression years before World War II, Busquet created his own designs using imported lamps, which he placed in fixtures made of tubing, iron rods, and Bakelite stands. After the war, this functional design style was expanded into a business-like style related to and inspired by De Stijl and Bauhaus. His designs were always as simple as possible and had a coherent connection between form and function.
