Sheep bone armchair, with ears and cushion seat. Louis XIII style.
This is a very fine sheepskin shepherd's chair with ears, also known as a "confessional" shepherd's chair, from the second half of the 19th century.
This large, comfortable armchair is in superb woodwork condition. It features a turned wooden base reinforced by an X-shaped brace. The armrests are fitted with padded cuffs.
The cushioned seat, high backrest, structural shape and reclining make this a model of optimal comfort. Perfect for relaxing by the fire, reading a book, entertaining patients, chatting with friends...
The upholstery is in good condition. The seat cushion is removable. The cover fabric is thick (velvet-like, finely ribbed) and cream-colored,
The fabric is also in good condition, with a few classic signs of use.
There are two stains on the left side, one very light, which a light cleaning will soften, the other barely visible under the armrest. They do not detract from the beautiful appearance of this armchair, whose fabric is exceptionally well preserved (no gaps, no tears). Finished with large upholsterer's nails.
