A vintage bedside table featuring a useful open top shelf and a lower cupboard, offering practical storage. It is strong, sturdy, yet relatively lightweight, making it easy to position.
Constructed from oak veneer with what appears to be a soft lime-wash finish, giving it a pale, understated look that works well in both traditional and relaxed interiors. Finished with a turned oak round knob, a simple but attractive detail.
The table is in nice, clean vintage condition, with some marks to the top commensurate with age and use.
On the back, it is stamped with the Board of Trade Utility Furniture Scheme, established in the United Kingdom during World War II (1942-1952) to provide affordable, well-made, and functional furniture at a time of material shortages. A lovely example of restrained design of quality and historical interest.
