This beautiful brooch is a so-called Aurora Borealis piece of jewelry. It is made with iridescent rhinestones that have undergone a special treatment causing them to sparkle in all the colors of the rainbow when light falls on them. This type of jewelry first appeared in the 1950s. However, given the light silver color on the back, I believe this piece is vintage, but younger than the mid-20th century. This is a pre-owned piece of jewelry, but it is still in very good vintage condition. A real eye-catcher, that is for sure!
