An elegant crumb-sweeping set for the study or dining table (traditionally known as a "crumb butler"), crafted during the interwar period. The set embodies the Art Deco style with distinct Art Nouveau influences, serving as a classic example of traditional table etiquette and European functional craftsmanship. [1]
The set comprises a flat, contoured dustpan made of solid, patinated brass and a matching, contoured brush featuring a wooden handle and natural bristles. The dustpan draws the eye with a geometric-floral embossed design on its upper section—forming a motif of stylized leaves or fans characteristic of the 1920s and 1930s. An additional hole in the brass body allows the set to be conveniently hung on the wall as a decorative piece. [1, 2]
