This set of square cookie tins in red and aqua blue comes from the Italian candy brand Amaretti Virginia, which was founded in 1860. The brand was established in Sassello, a small town in the Liguria region of Northern Italy. The distinctive treats quickly gained international fame and received prestigious awards at major world exhibitions. The brand is known worldwide for its traditional Amaretti Morbidi (soft amaretti). In addition to the cookies, the brand is also celebrated for its beautiful, collectible tins. They still use the original vintage images, typography, and nostalgic, romantic illustrations that defined their brand identity more than a century ago. These specific tins date from the 1990s; one of the tins had a partial date sticker showing the expiration date of the cookies, namely 1998. In excellent vintage condition! Red tin
