Product description
This is a vintage ceramic toucan figurine from Tonala, Jalisco, Mexico.
1950-1960
It is hand-painted with very handsome details typical of this type of Mid - Century Mexican ceramic.
Covered with a thin, transparent glaze that shines richly.
In Mexican culture, the toucan is a symbol of joy, happiness and cheerfulness. And of course we can use that here too, right?
It is also in perfect condition!
L: 14 cm
W: 6 cm
Nice on the nightstand as a good luck charm but also on a stack of books or anywhere you want to see a touch of joy.... An ideal little gift!
This little toucan is part of my collection of vintage Mexican ceramics of which I am selling a small portion here.
