A stunning two seater or loveseat by Gerard Van Den Berg for Montis.
This magnificent sofa is known as "The Rock" or "Florence".
It is fabricated in the 70's.
The sofa features a brown water-buffalo leather upholstery.
This very high quality leather is thick but supple and comfortable.
It is the original leather, it is in good condition and it has a beautiful patina after all these years.
This iconic sofa will give any space a luxurious ambience!
Gerard Van Den Berg is known for his radical reinterpretation of the traditional Dutch design heritage.
In 1974, van den Berg co-founded Montis with his brother.
His design was inspired by but also managed to Challenge the Classic forms.
His signature style is to manipulate traditional leather upholstery into unexpected forms, creating a tension between the material and the design. He invented the "Jacket" upholstery that is now considered an iconic and revolutionary design approach.
